Mike "Ozzey" Oswald - Owner/Instructor
Mike "Ozzey" started diving with his brother and a friend July of 1993. After doing local dives that year and a trip to Florida Keys that winter, he became totally hooked on the sport.

In the summer of 1994, he started working part time in a local dive shop in the Twin Cities. While working there, he continued to learn more by taking a multitude of classes and became a repair tech. He took the PADI dive master class in 1998 and worked with classes and leading dives.

He started at Scuba Dive and Travel in 2000 to work part time in the store and do service work. In 2004, he made the step up to Instructor. In 2005, he and Bonni purchased Scuba Dive and Travel. He is not in the store during the day, but most evenings you can find him there and most weekends, if he is not out diving somewhere.

He has been diving in a lot of places locally and in the Caribbean. The wrecks of Lake Superior are among his most favorites to dive, especially the ones around Isle Royale. For many years he has crewed on the charter boats there and the summer of 2006, he started Captaining the RLT Diver III. This allows him to spend time showing this beautiful place to others.

Goals he has for the future are to learn and dive with the rebreathers, become a Tri-Mix instructor and get enough sea service time to upgrade his captain’s license to a Masters. Turn scuba and captaining into a full time job so he can quit his real job.

Other then diving, he enjoys Nascar races, camping and being out on a boat. Add any of those things with a cigar and a Killians or a Crown Royal and he is a happy camper.
